I’m no Pedro Pascal, but I’m in my late 40s and I won my first Lion this year
Congrats!
I’m 54 years old. I just think it’s a miracle I’m still working at an agency.
I’m older than you and I know it’s a miracle that I’m still at an agency.
49. Just landed a dream job at the in-house creative department at a massive tech company. Salary, bonus, stock options, everything.
I’m out of agency and could not be happier. This is the pivot my career needed and considering the landscape of the industry and the rapid decline of the agency model, I suggest all do the same.
It gets harder and harder to prove your value as you get older. Sometimes you have to seek out the ones who are looking for exactly what you’ve got.
…granted I’m told I look 32 but whatever 😜
Damn- that lines up with what I’ve heard about tech interviews. Even more 🍾 to you!
And I am less than a year from max SS. So yeah.
That sounds like me. I’ve earned more acclaim and money now than I did in my 20s and 30s.
If you’ve worked hard but maybe haven’t been heavily awarded and are good at your job, and specifically good at the management part of it, you’re probably hitting your stride around 40 and also starting to be at a level where that skill set is put to its best use.
Erica Roberts at BBH is a great example. She really got big in leadership roles.
In advertising or in general?

Mostly ad, but any creative industry of interest.
