Recently got back from a trip to SE Asia. My main takeaway: I noticed so many people - with so little - still so happy. What do they know that we don't?

I'd say also 'prestige' is a made up construct, and not worth pursuing. Your income, career, perceived social status, could all go away in an instant.

I went to Vietnam and Thailand for just over two weeks. Flew into Saigon, went to Hoi An (really quaint beachside town) and then hopped over to Halong Bay for a night. I went to Bangkok and Koh Tao in Thailand. Highly recommend the trip.

Probably living more in tune with natural rhythms helps. Not sure how we can be happy without sleep, social lives, relationships, healthy Sex lives , proper food, time to unwind and under constant pressure, deadlines, and frustration when the md decides to change shade of graph colors at 11pm of a Sunday night

Where did you go, for how long, and what did you do? Looking to do a trip there next year.

They don't know what we know...

Cuz quality of life is pretty shit in the us for the price that we are all paying, adding so much unnecessary pressure

Anyone here who made the exit from Big 4/MBB consulting to a VC? If so, I’d love to hear about how the experience is so far. (Not to mention the WLB and comp!) I’m considering a career change but have no one in my network I can go to for insights. Thx! 🙏🏾

I’m a scheduler in a major hospital, see my position in other departments being advertised as remote available. How can I successfully negotiate WFH? I’d like to cut down on my 44-mile one way commute.

Background: I’ve been in my position for 1 yr. I have 20 yrs military experience, bachelors in Business. I took an entry level $15/hour job to get my foot in the door. I’m actively looking for a promotion. But 44 miles plus gas & business casual clothing on $15/hour is killing me.

I’m student teaching and I’m completely stressed out. I’ve been in an elementary classroom as a TA, but this is way different.

Hello. Quick question about formatting. I have an excel sheet with bunch of negative numbers, but some are percentage values and some are dollar values. Is there a way to make all of them have a parenthesis for being negative while keeping them still percentage and dollar value separately or do I have to target them separately?
