I am now being faced with an opportunity that would possibly have me 1/2 step back, but trajectory wise would put me on pace for promotion to the level that I wanted in 2-3 years anyway in a new dept. Do you think it feasible to ask for a raise (would get lateral either way for the “lesser” role)? The new leader advised I am the succession plan if I accept.
