Fantastic watch! Spring Drive is super accurate, gliding seconds hand is hypnotic and the power reserve is on the back (which is a big deal for some). Not to mention that dial is gorgeous!!
Unfortunately GS has been cracking down on discounts so likely nothing substantial. You can always try an out of state AD that won’t charge sales tax.

All around fantastic piece and great movement. Best you can hope for is no sales tax

Yeah, the Omiwatari is awesome.
Grand Seiko is best appreciated in person. The polishing is amazing and the dials really pop.
Highly recommend! GS finishing and dials are A1
These have been going for MSRP used. There are GS pieces you can get a discount on, but don’t expect a discount on this one.
Thank you all for the replies. Sounds like a winner. AD offered some discount (less than 10%). Might look at Chrono24 for other buying options. Some go around $7k
This picture doesn’t do justice. Also want to see the White Birch in person for comparison

I’d probably snap it up from the AD with the discount, even if minimal. Having the AD connection and a place to go for a service issue is worth an extra 5%.

Grand Seiko has been on a tear and as the market recognizes this, the discounts (up to 25% 5 years ago!) have gotten smaller and more difficult to achieve.

Beautiful watch though, and worth the retail price imo
I have this watch and love it!

I wish they made this with an auto spring drive

Omiwatari dial watch *
A Grand Seiko spring drive is definitely on my wish list! Seems like the best of both worlds between the accuracy of quartz but without a battery. And their dial designs are beautiful.
