So I applied for a jr accountant but when I had the interviews they kept referring the role as staff accountant. So I negotiated that title instead & 10k more. Then I get the offer letter & its for a Sr. Accountant with no conversation to even negotiate salary. They thought I would be flattered but it annoyed me to no end. I brought it up & basically send me the same JD for all 3 and just changed the title and the amount of years of experience. I want to say no 2 it now but I'm not sure.

I was approached on LinkedIn for an early career recruiting role in DFW, TX. I don't have direct experience, but I have the university experience/connections from working in career services. This is the first time I've considered work outside of higher education. I said my salary expectations are minimum $90k and that didn't seem to be an issue. Am I asking too little, too much? Started a new job a year ago, high performer. My manager suggested a promotion to Product Manager since that‘s the work I’m doing, but that would be a 50% raise. Higher ups decided instead to make a “new role” (not PM), that has no analog in the company and is hard to price via Glassdoor, etc. I feel like this is to limit my promotion salary to something like 10% from where it currently is.
