They don't expect loyalty. If anything, our culture sees it as weakness. I think most firms are trying to increase turnover and are hiring externally for leadership roles because of the talent glut.

Until macro conditions (including indicators like turnover) change, we're going to continue to see paltry raises, downward pressure on promotions, reduced backfill, and workhorses punished with more work.

Don't be the workhorse.
