Something to brighten up your day 🤗

Deloitte experienced hires, who all received written offers and in process of visa/ onboarding, have you heard back anything about hiring freeze? Or recruiter asked you to delay joining date?
My visa got submitted couple of days back and waiting for decision. When I reached out to recruiter to give her an update and mentioned once there’s decision will discuss on the start date before putting my 2 weeks, she mentioned “Yes, we should talk before you put notice” - Am I overthinking? I am always very kind and helpful to everyone. That usually works for me. But sometimes we just don’t get on with everyone then I just keep it very professional

I struggle with this. I just want to be accepted
I think one of the hardest things we go through as humans is accepting that not everyone will like us, just as we will not like everyone. Just be yourself, be kind and professional, and just do your job. Read The Let Them Theory. It really helped me!

My daughter and her friends talk about that book a lot
Sometimes our perceptions are incorrect. The coworker might be a very quiet person, or very focused, or preoccupied with something, or struggling with something you don't know about. Do they behave similarly with everyone? If so, I'd be nice, not take it personally, watch and listen for chances to connect, and generally get along. Some people are simply not very outwardly social. This served me well in some IT situations where I ended up being on pretty good terms with some difficult personalities.
If it seems like it's only you, then maybe there's a style mismatch and they're misinterpreting your overtures. If friendship or camaraderie with this person is important to you, watch their interactions with people who seem to get along with them better and see if you can learn how to communicate so they understand. But perhaps you don't need to be friends and just treating each other professionally will be enough. That's fine too.

Stay true to yourself, be kind and respectful. Always just say go and something nice. They may not say anything, but hopefully they will eventually come around
I had the same thing happen. I just kept it nice and professional. She later became very jealous because I was accepted into a program she didn’t and then it was full on. She hid who she really was from others but treated me poorly when others weren’t there to see it. I asked others for support and they thought “she would never do that—you must be lying!” When an offer came up to move to a different school in our district, I took it. It wasn’t until a few years later that a friend told me that the teacher that called me a liar wanted to apologize to me b/c the same stuff was being done to her! The case in point, trust your feelings, limit time with that person, and keep it positive and in your control when you deal with them. And if possible, have others there as witnesses to their behavior if possible.
I appreciate this! I'm sorry you had to go through that!
