^Agree! Startup experience is definitely invaluable. It also depends on the degree of startup. You will definitely have a larger work load at startups due to smaller teams, but I think that this experience really preps you for other positions in the future too.
Big tech! Big companies are inherently more stable than smaller companies. However, when you work at a big tech company, there are a ton of projects going on you don’t have much ownership over the products. You’re working on much smaller tasks in the grand scheme of things because that’s what the company needs.
This is such a hard one. Startup experience is invaluable - you get to see a company grow from the ground up, wear a bunch of different hats. BUT, pay and benefits are not always the best and uncertainty is always there. I think it depends on what stage you are at in your career. If you can afford a bit of risk, startups are awesome.
Startups can potentially get you where you want to be quicker, but you run a much higher risk of losing job stability if they lose funding or other problems arise. Big tech can look great on your resume, but you may feel like a cog in a machine and not have nearly as much say or control over your position. If you've got savings, no kids and a family that doesn't need your financial support right now, I would go to the startup.
