Student Enrollment Swaps/Withdrawals. Do these things happen in your CTE program? Can it happen at anytime? Do you get a say? Any other rules or standard practices?

Rarely happens after the 2nd or 3rd week of school, but I have taken a new student at the end of the 9 weeks before , I didn't have much say in the decision

like

Constantly. Admin uses my class as a drop-in class. It is not uncommon to have a student stay for just a few weeks as they decide what a late start student will do for a schedule.

Our CTE has students from several school corps. Instructors have no say in which students get into the course and no say in getting students removed from the course. The sending school has to remove the student. Typically that only happens if the student is at risk of not graduating.

Our department is having a difficult time building our programs. Admin takes us for granted and doesn’t include us in any of the planning. I have a few ideas that I hope will help, but could use some advice on more ways to recruit students to our courses. The courses are relevant and engaging, but we have a trouble getting noticed on our large campus. What ways or methods do you use to draw students into your CTE programs?

For Thanksgiving, our team decided to give back to our scholars in a way that came from the heart. At times like this, it’s also important to thank our educators that make the wheels turn and build new vehicles to greater heights. Thank you! What are you thankful for?

I have a unique challenge right now in my class. We have found if we wipe the table down with multiple kinds of cleaner in soap and let it dry well that it will stick better but this is a huge time consumer as we transition between classes.
