Where do you find your CTE community? Is it through this platform, a professional organization, or another avenue?

I work in a state where we are lucky enough to have State CTE Advisory Boards that are separated by cluster. We usually meet once or twice a year but will email one another when we have questions and it's so nice to be able to talk with people that know your subject. Additionally, 4 of the schools' programs are run by teachers who all had the same high school graphics teacher. We have all known each other for years, which is pretty cool.

I’ve met other CTE teachers through various student competitions. Once we put aside the competitiveness 😂 we were able to bond.

Looking for an entry level non exempt positions. I've been in and out of both food service and retail for years. I know what I'm worth and I know how strong my work ethic is. I do not enjoy having carrots dangling out of reach, preventing me from furthering my career. Seems all this 20 something year olds are getting what I feel I do deserve (no ego). I'm fairly experienced in management and am willing to learn more.

Thank you.

My concern is that here in Indiana, I have taught in 3 different districts over 21 years in traditional high schools & have not ever had a student teacher or Practicum observer in my computer lab classroom. The last school I left for my current career center dropped the computer science courses I spent 10 years building and refining all together. No qualified CTE teachers available. 🤷‍♂️
