Oh I feel this, both at home and at work. It's a lot more embarrassing at work though. I end every call with my family by saying "I love you," and as they're the only people I talk to on the phone regularly, it's become a habit. I can't tell you how many times I've went to end a call at work and said something like "I lo....'ll talk to you later" 🤣🤣.

Haha I’ve almost done this too 😭 muscle memory really kicks in at the worst times.
I definitely do that, lol. I mean, it's muscle memory at a certain point. I forget to turn off my "customer service" voice and just be a normal person.

Haha same 😭 that customer service voice really sticks with you, it’s hard to switch it off sometimes.
I know exactly what you’re talking about. Sometimes I’ll answer my personal phone with, hi thank you for calling, Insert the name of my company. Usually gets a good laugh from the person on the other end.

Haha yes! That would definitely get a laugh, muscle memory is real.
Pro
I accidentally thank people for no reason or when they should be thanking me!
Conversation Starter
Haha, I do that too, thanking people out of habit is so weird sometimes.

You are definitely not the only one. Those phrases get wired into your brain after enough shifts. It is muscle memory at that point. I have almost said the full script in normal conversations too. Customer service mode does not switch off easily.

Totally! Customer service mode doesn’t switch off that easily.

You are definitely not the only one. When you repeat the same line all shift, it just hardwires itself into your brain. I’ve caught myself slipping into work voice with friends too. It’s wild how fast it becomes automatic. Customer service really leaves a permanent script running in the background.

Totally! I’ve surprised myself using work phrases in normal chats,it sneaks up on you.
Rising Star
Yes, happens to me all the time! Even from my restaurant days, I say “behind” or “corner” sometimes 😂
Conversation Starter
Yes! Little work cues just pop out without warning, even years later.
Yes and yes. This is so relatable...
