Honestly get someone that is creative and can use Google and give them a uncapped internet connection. And then proceed to challenging them with new things. I am a mechanical Draughtsman, I also do blender visualisations, graphics design, CAD Admin, IT, coding, video editing, DIY and just about anything my team needs. I have been figuring out everything I needed to do on the go. I firmly believe I can do anything I set my mind on with some practice and a internet connection. Google and YouTube is your best friends.
I have an aversion to saying that I “can do it all” but I have definitely have tailored my skillset to support a more digital future. I can develop front-end as well as I can design visually, I can animate 2D/3D and model 3D from scratch. I think this triangle of skills is what Web3 will be built on.
I’ve been teaching myself Figma (YouTube) and some Blender (Motion Design School) through online tuts. My compensation package includes some tuition compensation but it doesn’t count if you’re not working towards a certificate of some sort (which I’m not) :/.
It’s not realistic to expect everyone to be able to be perfect at everything. I’m great with visual design, concepts and ux/ui while I can flex slowly with motion. My company does offer up to 1 or 2k a year for classes.
