My best advice is to actively learn how to not care what people think. HR has a lot of demands and expectations from all different groups and teams and managers and leadership… If you try to keep everybody happy, you're going to burn yourself out. Do what you need to do, abide by the policies, but don't work yourself sick trying to make everybody happy. You never will!

I have gotten really good at that, I used to care massively but now I don’t and it’s the most freeing feeling. You can’t be a people pleaser all the time, just have to take it how it is and get on with it.
Keep reminding yourself why you started. HR is about people, not just policies. Celebrate small wins and keep learning. Growth follows purpose.

Yes defiantly, in fact the small wins contribute massively to the bigger wins.
Regular check your progress and and definitely speak to more experienced colleagues, note what they do and ask advise when needed.
