Yes, yes we should and to those who talk elitism get out of the play with language and openly discuss the issues you think should be on the table. How are you defining it? Elitism, what is the alternative some type of communism or socialism where we can all be “equal”? You may be able to win me over. What are we striving for? What do we want our kids to strive for? This language is a tool. There is someone, an elite by EVERY definition, pointing at Harvard saying, they think they’re better than you. Ugh!! What alternative are you offering and should it be legislated? Game it out. (That was more a response to responses.) I want government to meddle for me but not for you? It can’t be generally protective of humanity. What is wrong with US??? I would vote in favor of your humanity every single time. Why are we so easily divided and unable to see the bigger picture? Are there better ways you can effect class change in these United States? This is BIG and where some improvements should be made, bullying higher education so that you can create institutions for your own propaganda is not it. The jury is still out on wet market or lab but that is neither here nor there. I just read an article about this. I am a little paranoid of another disease outbreak that we’re not hearing about. I don’t need an early death I’ve fought for so much.
Anyway, personally I think there was a few reasons for the so called ‘censorship’ (I’m not on traditional FB/TikTok/etc. so never saw). One was because Trump was such a liar during the pandemic. I mean come on. He functioned true to himself during a major health crisis, which isn’t good. He suppressed COVID testing and literally said, no testing - I don’t want the numbers to go up. He said to drink disinfectant. Ppl did and died! Or to take ivermectin which is Plaquenil- I’ve been on that for lupus and it started to damage the retina- side effect! Not a drug to mess with. I certainly knew I couldn’t trust trump, Fauci made sense to me (I have 3 MDs in the family and a nurse) and thank God for my husband, my kids and my doctors- I didn’t want to end up on a vent dying in the hospital having my boys see me on video bc no one was allowed in the hospital. This time in my life, during the pandemic was very scary.
This is my perspective. It was a new virus, not only was it spreading quickly, it killed people extremely quickly. Entire households were dying. It was a very efficient and effective virus. The science was changing, the mitigation response was changing with it. It’s not hard! the American ppl ask for too much sometimes. I’m alive, but unfortunately over one million ppl died in 1.5 yrs. That’s heavy!

I am more concerned that the left has driven out all ideological opponents from academia over the past 40 years. Harvard could wither and disappear and the country will be better off for it.
Would the US benefit from a non-partisan, healthy, elite institution that provides excellent education for top students? Absolutely. Harvard is none of that. It is elitist more than elite.

Furthermore, America is not liking these disappearing acts of ppl being detained in overcrowded privatized detention centers in FL and TX where ppl have died due to neglect or to a death camp prison in El Salvador. How much did we pay Bukele to outsource our responsibility as humans. How much are we paying the businesses that abuse human and disregard their dignity? How much do we pay them to abuse ppl? Ppl died due to neglect so this statement is true.
Americans are not liking the cruelly of this administration. Trump’s approval rating has been dropping faster than his recent predecessors which doesn’t surprise anyone!
