thoughts on zero capitalization and minimal punctuation in texts, slacks, dms etc? i feel like i’ve noticed it most from genz creatives and it makes me so self conscious i’ve started to respond in kind

one is just the evolution of language which happens -- and you'll look silly if you try to hard to fit in. If we still write and communicate to clients like people, maybe do that.

It’s a gen z thing. I’m not gen z so I just keep on keepin on.

What’s strange to me is it takes more effort to not capitalize because your phone will capitalize the first letter of the text regardless.

GenZ is too lazy to do anything manually. There had to be a setting.

CORPDEV professionals - I’d like to do a quick salary survey here if y’all don’t mind as I haven’t found a good place to benchmark salaries. Can you all share your YoE, total comp (base + bonus + equity / stock options), location, and size of company. I’ll go first - 10 YOE, 180K + 20% + $250K in options, Atlanta, and PE backed $100M company. TIA!

I’m looking to transition from my current sales role (purely operational) to a more creative/strategic role that involves public speaking/facilitation. Have some experience in sales development (mainly business development & strategic advice to C-level), branding/marketing, facilitation (as a side-job) and working with content creators.

I’m new to this space so not sure about what kind of roles there are?

Hi all, was hoping for clarity on offers from FANG/Tier 2 tech I received recently. Base pay is still within range of 130-150K, but equity components have dropped dramatically. For reference, for similar positions, I was receiving grants of 150K - 200K over 4 years for data analyst positions (4-5 YOE) in Aug’21-Feb’22. For personal reasons, I did not accept these offers. Now the equity grants are coming in like 50-70K over 4 years. Is this market wide for non SWE/PM roles due to stock market?

Reorgs are just a part of the corporate world. If you haven’t been a part of one in your career yet, then you most likely haven’t been in the corporate workforce for very long. If you have been a part of a reorg, however, how do you personally approach it? There are many factors at play, but in general do you try to establish relationships with the individuals you know will be key contributors and/or decision makers going forward? Or do you lay low and let what ever happens be/hope for the best?
