Yes.
The litigation skills are transferable. You may have to learn new substantive law, but that’s easy and also pretty common from case to case. Getting pigeonholed is really about how you market yourself at your firm and the work you’re able to get, not about the skills you have.

Why would it be hard to transition from antitrust lit to general lit? Obviously you’re just going to learn more substantive areas of law. But every generalist litigator is doing that all the time.

I really like antitrust lit. But I also am interested in trial work and antitrust trial work is virtually non existent. I guess most trial work these days is non existent, but I’d be interested in a practice area that has some chance of getting some trial work in.
