Anyone here has experience with a WAAP?
I have total 4.5 years of experience. Currently I am working as data engineer. Skill set: MSBI, SSIS, SSRS, SQL Server, ADF, Alteryx. Will these technologies be good enough for my 3rd switch. Never assume and never ever take anything at face value especially with a recruiter. Research similar roles in your area. Are they in line with what you’re looking for? What would it take for you to move? 15% 20% increase from your current job? Only you can decide for you. You can tell them you were aiming for XYZ based on your experience and responsibilities of the new role. Is there any way to bridge the gap? If they won’t budge on base salary, would you be open to other forms of compensation benefits/PTO or sign on bonus etc? If so, ask them. Good luck - you got this.
You typically won’t negotiate salary with the recruiter — they may be the point of contact, but the hiring manager ultimately decides your final compensation. When I’m given a range, I treat the midpoint as the starting point and aim for the top of the range. To get there, you have to clearly demonstrate why you’re worth it.
