Anyone here ever been to RCA? Is it worth it ?
Hi π,
Want to know from experienced folks,
Is it good to leave a descent salary, good WLB job for some hike since I have to clear my bank dues and also planning to buy a property. Its been 4 yrs working in the current company, as of now all is well here.

I think the problem is in the mindset. We, Indians from the very start of our lives are taught to 'compare and compete'. We inculcate this in every aspects of our life including career. Nobody wants to get underpaid and so we compare with others to understand whether we are getting good compensation or not. There's two very prominent problems that emerge from this mindset: a) We judge our worth on the basis of other peoples' compensation which I think is wrong. b) We are never actually told when to stop this(or get out of this mindset) and so you can see a lot of people doing this till the very end of their careers.
Personally, I think if you're earning enough to take care of you and your family's needs and still saving a decent amount then that's all which is needed. Life is supposed to be lived and not ignored in this cat-mouse chase game. Obviously, there's another reason too which kind of forced us to do this and that is 'pay inequality'. Most of the leading companies in India doesn't ensure pay parity which makes everyone curious to know whether they're getting paid according to the industry standards or not.

Very well described ππ. Cannot agree more π―π―
And the sad thing is that they do not reply once they know the salary and YOE π
Yupps... It seems based on a person salary, they decide whether that person is worth talking or not.

This is only in Consulting India. I honestly don't know why folks in this group are so keen to know how much the other person earns. It appears to me, the only yardstick for job satisfaction in India is the salary and designation. ππ
Nahhh not designation... Only salary. π π π π π

Huge difference between resignation patterns in west and in India. We are so far to reach their mindset of seeking satisfaction, happiness etc keeping aside salary and tech stack, in india its only and only how much salary we can get more. Lot more maturity is required in indians, which will come over the time.
Dude ..this is India.
Foreigners get paid 50$/hour for any technical work.
Actually they are greedy....their hourly charge is our monthly charge.
Maturity doesn't come with age..
Grow up.
