Bring metal hooks and lanyards - walls are metal - hooks stick for drying clothes. Go casual, many ppl go from pool to dinner. Don’t bring floaties - not allowed in the pool.
Join the fb group for your cruise and ask for ideas.
You’re gonna have a great time. I have three kids and our first Disney cruise was at ages four six and eight. The cabin is actually very well laid out, but here’s a couple things I would recommend:
Strong magnetic hooks to hang lanyards, hats, coverups on. They stick to the wall or the door.
Get a large packing cube for each of your kids and put their clothes in it. Get a separate packing cube and put everyone’s pajamas in it. Get a separate packing cube and put everyone’s swimwear goggles, etc. in it. There are doors that open with shelves in them that I like to stack those packing cubes on and then I just pulled them out when I need them.
Also, my best tip is order coffee for two at night before you go to bed. They bring it in an insulated carafe and that way you can have coffee in the room in the morning before the kids wake up. It stays hot enough.
Command hooks ( check with your room steward as since day they are okay to use, others may say no), magnetic hooks as subside else said, over the door shoe holder (the one that has pockets)... we have it out on the bathroom door to hold bathroom items or sunscreen, etc.
Beach Towel clips... if you have a balcony. We've clipped wet items to the chairs on the balcony to dry out.
Collapsible laundry basket or laundry bag.
We just went on a Disney cruise and honestly the cabin was more spacious than I expected (ocean view room). There were plenty of drawers available and hangers in room as well, plus there was a clothesline across the shower for drying swim clothes. Every day we tidied up by throwing dirty clothes into a plastic bag. We spent almost no time in our rooms with kids of similar ages.
Have so much fun!!! Which ship are you going on? We just took our kids (13,10,7) on the Wish in January (and subsequently booked a longer cruise on Destiny for next summer because it was amazing). Top tips - It's easy to overpack on a cruise, but no worries on Disney - there's a laundry room - you can run a load if you need to. Take magnetic hooks, not sure if it's all the ships (google it) but on Wish the walls are all magnetic, so easy to hang up wet swimsuits. Don't take towels - there are towels at pools and every time you get off the ship. The bed is high, so I left most of our clothes (except hanging stuff) in our suitcases, just pull it out like a drawer and then slide it back under. A couple years ago, I bought each of my kids their own 'nice' carry-on suitcase - they each pack their own bag - they're allowed their carryon suitcase and a backpack. That way I know where their stuff is. My suitcase is for my stuff and 'family' stuff. I also always take a few garbage bags for dirty laundry - I put it in the closet and then it gets shoved back into near empty suitcases at the end of the trip. Okay and best tip that has nothing to do with organization - Mickey Ice cream bars are free on Room Service (most room service is free) - every time we went back to the room for showers or to get ready for the next thing, one of my kids called and ordered 5 mickey ice cream bars (take some small bills to tip room service) - it was my favorite thing to hear my 7 year old pick up the phone and make the call :)
We’ll be on the Wish!
If you have girls they will live in princess dresses (if that’s their thing of course). I bought a bunch of cute outfits but all they wore were the princess dresses, just like every other girl on the cruise.
Thank you all! So many helpful comments!!
