At my company - Sales producer for work/life balance - and compensation if you’re good at it :). Sales is more likely to offer a variety of schedules to suit your needs. Base pay is decent - but I frequently made 2-3 times my base pay in commission (and I was never a top seller).
Adjuster work/life balance depends on your area - field/cat claims has less balance (at the mercy of the weather) but better compensation plus per diems when deployed. In-office claims can have rigid schedules depending on claim volume - which has been in the higher end for the last couple of years due to strong growth numbers. The base pay is better than sales, but I consistently made more in sales working fewer hours because of commission. It can be hard to get time off in this department in my experience.
I would also add that you can decide w sales what your work life balance is, as you can choose to grind longer for bigger commissions. But how much more are adjusters making? I’m on pace for 90-110 as an agent team member, 40-45 hrs sales. Are adjusters above that?
