I’d normally say live your life and don’t put off your family planning for a job, but putting things off 1 month does not seem like a big deal

Yeah just wait 1 month. It’s de minimus and avoids a bunch of potentially awkward convos.
I’m starting at a new firm next week too! They don’t offer mat leave so I’m literally trying now lol. It took me a while last time and my baby is 15 months and I really want them to be close in age. Good luck to both of us 🙏
When I changed jobs, the disability insurance said it had a one year waiting period for preexisting conditions. I needed to know since I need knee replacement surgery. Check your policy to see what limitations it may have.
It’s not most firm’s choices to wait a year. Typically they have insurance policies that cover the mat leave but coverage is only triggered if you’ve been there a year! So you should definitely way. I am in the exact same boat, and plan to wait justttt to be safe.
