Fractions are my favorite to teach but I think student’s favorite is order of operations
I love geometry!! Shapes and angles and using protractors! Kids love the change of pace! And so do I!!
Fractions and finding the missing sum of angles! The place value and rounding unit is always a drag for both me and the kids. Looking forward to trying out Illustrative Math as a new curriculum this year, hoping it has a more engaging unit for those topics
Fractions. I love all of the manipulatives we use in class.
As wacky as it sounds, I loved teaching Time calculations this year. It was a great opportunity to walk them through my thought process and for a lot of them helped them bridge the gap between needing paper and pencil and doing mental math
Geometry and multiplication using ALL of the different methods! Oh, and using math tasks!
I like teaching all different mental math strategies to students. I like seeing the progress that students make in the area of number sense.
