Most days I just have a backpack and lunch box (and my tea or coffee). If I’m going out to court or for a professional event I switch to a purse instead of the backpack.
Rising Star
On a typical day, just a purse. I have a desktop and a lot in my office (water bottle, snacks and teas, personal items) so don’t cart stuff in and out most days. In the middle of an intense brief, I’ll carry papers in a Redweld (or binders in a wheeled bag or boxes with a dolly if really super intense). For meetings out of office, I use a leather tote that replaces my purse and holds personal effects, papers, and my laptop.
Backpack for a public transit commute; I generally don’t have a lot of papers. I keep a small purse in my desk drawer that basically just holds my phone for if I run out to coffee or lunch. I pretty much gave up on trying to use the gym at my building for this very reason—I couldn’t fit everything in my backpack and can’t abide carrying multiple bags!
I usually just use a medium backpack that holds notebooks and my laptop, plus room for a change of shoes, snacks and some personal items. I use a nicer wristlet purse so I can swap between work and personal bags without forgetting the absolute essentials (for me, a hair tie and small clip, tiny lotion, chapstick, tissues and cards). I usually toss lunch things in as well unless they’re messier, then I use a foldable canvas tote so I don’t need to deal with the bag commuting home. Everything else I need I keep a stash in my office (I don’t work out but if I did I would likely keep a set of things in my office or a gym locker). I like the tumi backpacks a lot, good use of pockets and the nylon is so lightweight + leather zipper pulls keeps it polished!
(noting I’m in a transactional practice so most client interaction is more casual or via zoom)

Beis bag with crossbody inside. You could lunch in there and maybe workout stuff too.
