What do typical hours look like for someone in Equity Research? Remote/in person? Busy seasons or not? Just curious, thanks.

Okay thanks so much for your help. Workin on making my way over there

Buy or sell side?

Either. Just have no idea what it typically looks like. I see so many different answers to this online so I’m guessing it fluctuates quite a bit

If you want to work in EQ research your asking the wrong question. People typically don’t track hours or check in or out. You need to have a long term perspective on your career as well as balance your professional/personal life.

I would like to balance the two; That’s why I’m asking on the typical hours worked. How can I make a plan without asking questions?

Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.

Hey guys, so I have competing offers. One at Bank of America for 124, and one at Allspring for 110.

Does anybody work at Allspring? They did not provide any information regarding benefits, 401k match, or any annual bonus structure. I was told, verbally, that the Bank of America bonus is something like 15 to 20%, but nothing in writing.

Just wondering if anyone has any knowledge about compensation structure at Allspring, or any opinions on the culture there. I would be in Charlotte.

Just curious to how my firms (wealth management/bank/trust) comp compares with others out there. I received a promotion earlier this year from an Investment Advisor, AVP to Senior Investment Advisor, VP and moved from $110K to $140K ($130 salary + $10K discretionary bonus) all in. By meeting expectations in 2 pay cycles, the base bumps up to $175K + bonus. Grown in this role over about 10 years with the same firm, MBA + CFA; top 10 city and living comfortably as dual income household.
