What does EM/ PL look like Mck and bcg and how is the promotion process structured? It feels very different from Bain with a dedicated M year and it seems like the scope of an SM is typically closer to more tenured EM/PL (typically overseeing 3-4+). We have a pretty thorough promotion process from M to SM

Has anyone ever left finance (or know someone that has) to do something completely different? My experience is split between FP&A and accounting and while I have progressed, I am becoming depressed b/c I feel like I’m in the wrong field. I am generally a motivated, high performing person, but I al starting to slip up and care less, b/c my work is not satisfying to me. Read that McK is paying 2K higher than BCG this year which means BCG will probably raise again next year to at least match. However, they can’t just copy McK with 2K to match because that would look bad so they’ll have to beat it again. Then McK and Bain will follow. Barring a devastating recession, I’m guessing this means MBB is all getting raises again next year?
