What fun and interesting information about yourself do you put on your welcome letter to families? I don't think parents really care about my favorite color or candy haha, so I'm looking for some new ideas other than the basic info about my education and such.

At back to school night (not in writing) I would tell them I'm a learner as well as a teacher and mention a class or something that I was taking and how it reminded me of the work it takes to be a student. A favorite mention was kickboxing, which I was studying, because it reminded me of how it feels to be the one who just doesn't get it and has to work harder and ask dumb questions. I explained how this influenced my teaching, because I figured that's why they might care.

For the kids, I showed them a picture of my dog. That's all the personal info they needed.

All of this is past tense because I just retired, so won't have to do it this year.

We wrote a team letter. I taught Literature and in 6th grade and work with four other teachers. We listed supplies, suggestions about sleep needed, breakfast, homework club we had and a simply philosophy of what we believe about education. Parents really don’t care where you went to school, your favorite color, or any personal stuff like that. They want to know why you teach, your discipline style, and major goals you plan on helping their child succeed. The don’t want to read about “fluff” stuff.

I have joined a company on 4th Feb, through consultancy on contract to hire basis.
I only received the job offer letter from the consultancy, but no Appointment Letter is given yet.
So since it's 10-15 day, since I joined. Can I leave this company, since I've got a better offer, with my suitable location.
PS: I have also received the laptop, but didn't login or do anything yet.
Please help me, can I still leave the company? And return the laptop to them. Or I have to continue here itself?
