My close friends had a Quaker wedding where they have a contract that all the wedding attendees sign saying they will support the couple. I had the contract printed out on high quality poster sized paper with lines for everyone to sign and then hand painted flowers that had significance to the couple across the top. They had it framed and 12 years later, it is still in their living room and it makes me so happy they keep it on display.
Such beautiful gifts! My favorite gift from my wedding easily was this packet we received that had a bunch of gift cards and just fun date ideas. It really helped us to go out and still enjoy each other without having to plan or think too hard! Definitely the best, and I look forward to do it for a friends wedding that is coming next year!
My favorite gift that we got at my wedding was these really pretty engraved champagne flutes. We used them the night of the wedding and then we use them every year to do a toast on our anniversary. I love getting them out every year because they are so special to me and it brings me back to the best night of my life.
From a coworker, I received a set of salt and pepper shakers. They are crystal elephants with their trunks curled up. This is to symbolize good luck and prosperity. With the salt and pepper shakers came his note that wished us good fortune, reminded us that some years would be very difficult and we need to remain steadfast and fight for our relationship and to not give up until he had tried everything to save the marriage. For me, this was very special because no one knew this coworker to have that type of sentiment, except for me. I was 21 when I was married, and he was in his 50s. He was a mentor and carried hidden strength. Today, 9/2, is actually my 22nd wedding anniversary and 8/31 marked 27 years since our first date. These crystal elephants have been with us through hell and back. Multiple times. I have a beautiful marriage with an amazing husband. It's not always easy, but he is always worth it.
I don’t remember any wedding gifts from33 years ago. I remember the day, and the people who attended, and I remember how grateful we are to have such wonderful friends. My 2nd wedding, his 1st but we had a huge party at my house after a private intimate ceremony. I had 2 acres at the time. We had swimming, volleyball, pile of mud and dirt for kids, and 4 wheelers for rides lol. That’s it. Life is weird that way, isn’t it? In the end, whatever you give will be appreciated bc it was from you. Don’t stress about it. Look at their registry and get something from that or take hints from their style, or what they like, and go from there. They’ll love it!
It was our second wedding and we got married in our living room with only the minister, best man, maid of honor and his 8 year old playing keyboard. We didn't have anyone to take pictures. Our brand new neighbors happened to be home because their son had surgery. I asked them to come over and take pictures. They did and then made us a really nice photo album from our day. It was very sweet.
A rice cooker.
It has become my go to gift to anyone getting married.
