I’m going up for promotion currently and it will be within 2 years. It’s very possible if your a high performer and your on a few proposals and firm initiatives.
Thanks D1! My project supports promo and told me they've been checking the "next level" box on my snapshots but my coach is giving pushback and saying I can't go up, so it's a bit confusing. Do coaches have more weight than your project leadership?
Change coach he should help you, if project support you and portfolio supports is a done deal coach souks just submit.
Last year I had a coachee that wanted to go for promotion and I found he didn't have project support I still submitted (I talked to talent first) because that was my job and he of course in the end didn't get it but me as a coach still submitted for him.
My 2 campus hire coachees got promoted after a year. It all comes down to your project leadership. Coach is a messenger and doesn’t decide who gets promoted who doesn’t. Setup a joint call if needed with your coach and your manager.
What’s SSA? Assuming you are solution analyst. I was a SA campus hire. Promoted to SS in 2 years
I meant SS, sorry!
Hi! I’m an SA currently going up for promotion to SS and I’ve been with Deloitte for exactly one year as a campus hire upon year end (it will be about one year 4 months at time of promotion assuming I get it). It’s absolutely possible if 1) you are a high performer, 2) your project can support you at a higher level, 3) your manager(s) support your promotion and say you’re performing at next level, and 4) you have a supportive coach who advocates for you.
If #1 does not apply to you based on your performance snapshots and scatterplots, ask your managers or coach what you can do to get to the next level. If not #2, find a project that can support a new SS role. If not #3, ask how you can do better. If not #4, request a new coach who WILL support you!
My first coach did not care that I wanted to go up for promotion in my first year and gave me a (false) minimum time with the company requirement. Lots of coaches might judge you and not take you seriously if you go for it early, so you have to make it very clear or be willing to hunt around for someone who will fight for you. I had all the other boxes checked, so I found a new coach who supported my promotion and who initiated great discussions with my managers about my performance for year end!
Agreed! Hence why I got a new coach lol!
Solution analyst to solution specialist isn't a big step and a year or two tops as SA before going to SS is the expectation you should see
