As a follow-up, what’s unique with the 1-hour follow-up with the recruiter focused on my resume. Should I expect typical “tell me about a time when…” behavioral style questions?
In addition to D’s response, from my experience, third party recruiters typically focus on a few areas:
- they want to understand if you have the ability to work closely with leadership teams
- if the role is functional, they’ll look for specific examples of your experience in operational roles (supply chain, GTM, finance, etc.)
- at the A/SA level they’ll assess if can you thrive in a (what often is) a highly autonomous role: you’ll work with Portco’s quite a bit without any oversight
- comp expectations
totally agree with the autonomous part. I work in the portco space and I hear a lot from clients about how “lonely” the job can be. You are over there basically like a one man army just trying to steer the ship.
