1) A couple of years ago booked a room at Hyatt Regency Austin and then combo'd with a SUA for a 5 day stay during the US Grand Prix. Came out to like 12 cents/point value.
2) Already booked a room at the Grand Hyatt in Atlanta during the World Cup semis. Getting like 15 cents/point value there.
3) Have been to Europe 3 times this year, Business class on all flights (Virgin, Iberia, Air France) and averaged 8-10 cents/point.
Points game is awesome.
WOW this is super impressive!
The memorable ones involved taking family places we probably wouldn't have done without points, like the time my son wanted to go to the zoo, so we flew first class to San Diego. It probably wasn't a valuable redemption, but value doesn't always matter.
Love that for you
Flying my parents in business class from India to US. While it worked out at 6cpp their appreciation was priceless. They grew up barely above poverty.
Upgraded an uncle of mine using pp same route. That was his last flight before passing away. He remembered the experience even the day before him passing away. Really left a lasting impression for him.
Impromptu birthday trip flying EWR-SIN in SQ J, spending a week in Singapore/southern Thailand & flying back in SQ Suites on A380 to FRA & LH F on the 747 to IAH. Nearly 14 hours of sq suites on your birthday is RAD
Nice!!!!
I went to almost all the Taylor Swift concerts last year and used points to pay for all my international flights.
My most memorable redemption was booking a business-class flight to Europe for a special occasion. The upgrade made the trip so comfortable and luxurious, which felt like a real reward for the points effort. Your Turkey trip sounds amazing, and that feeling of gratitude is exactly why mastering points is so worthwhile. It’s great to hear your uncle set you up with such a valuable skill! What type of redemptions or benefits are you interested in exploring next?
Honeymoon in the Virgin Islands. Round trip first class tickets and 10 days at Hyatt resort on St. John (it’s now a Westin). Not saying this was some incredible deal for points, but it was nice when most of the honeymoon was essentially paid for with points
