What’s everyone reading this weekend?

I’m reading “All Her Little Secrets”.

One By One by Ruth Ware. On a totally different note I finished Code Talker last weekend and it was fascinating.

Moonflower Murders by Anthony Horowitz. Delicious whodunit in the style of Agatha Christie.

Just finished The Invisible Valley by Su Wei, which is a wonderfully weird book set in late 60s China, about a student sent to work on a "re-education" project in the backwoods who accidentally gets married to a ghost. Not sure what to go for next.

First year associate thinking about making the just from medium sized reputable IP firm to In House. Started at said firm summer of 1L year as a law clerk/patent agent in May 2019, have worked through school and full time as associate since Sept 2021. Feeling very “stuck” in day to day work. Love the patent/IP space but drafting and pros w/minimal human interaction is getting very difficult. Thinking In House would be better, but not sure how much experience needed. Thoughts?

Godot is the Call from the recruiter which never came...
This was the most pertinent book which I picked after getting rejected from all of MBB at the resume stage or never hearing back from boutiques like OW despite getting in all the networking, resume review sessions and referrals in. The frustration only intensifies absurdism lol.
In hindsight, Existentialists are not the best people to read during dwindling confidence xD. Great book though otherwise

Anyone have a reading recommendation for navigating office politics, especially “managing up” ? I’m reading Influence without Authority and it’s starting off very well and I think I want to explore the concept more deeply.

Did anyone read this yet ? I'm not sure how much I liked the paragraph long sentences but it has some very distinctive Kafkaesque tones. The book has already seen widely different reviews from different political camps. Ex-McKinsey & Company consultants are really becoming mainstream authors now.

I am studying for MBA and need 3 books. They are very expensive to buy, so I am wondering if any of you have access to a soft copy that you can share.
> Management Research: Applying the Principles by Susan Rose, Nigel Spinks
> Research Methods for Business and Management by Kevin O'Gorman, Robert MacIntosh

Just read this rather fun book spanning across quite an eclectic scope. Landsberg is one of my fav economics writer who has a snarky sense of humor and gets you thinking about obvious stuff.

The whole book is just an exercise in wholesomeness. The book reads like a script and no wonder it's getting adapted on the big screen with Tom Hanks playing the titular character.
