I Must Betray You by Ruta Sepetys is a great read for anyone looking for a new book.
I’ve been looking for a book that touches on life in America during the Vietnam war. The protest movement, pentagon papers, rock and roll. Impartial to fiction or non-fiction.
Wanted to recommend this book that my friend just published, for the poetry enthusiasts that might be out there.
Check this out!
I’m considering Gravity’s Rainbow. As a lawyer who reads hundreds of pages not for fun a day, how fucked am I?
This is a bit different than what people have posted but this is the book that I can’t wait to read. I’m always looking for ways to improve my sleep, I know I’ll never be an eight hour a night person but I am well over seven hours and it has made a world of difference in my health!
I’m in a rut. Ever since I had my daughter 5 months ago I haven’t read anything other than magazine articles. Looking for a fun page Turner to get back into the swing of things. Something in a similar…
Did anyone read this yet ? I'm not sure how much I liked the paragraph long sentences but it has some very distinctive Kafkaesque tones. The book has already seen widely different reviews from different political camps. Ex-McKinsey & Company consultants are really becoming mainstream authors now.
Any good book recommendations? Looking for fiction. I love books like Anxious People, Midnight Library, Waiting for Godot (theatre play)
Got this little gem as part of a bundle for my classroom. Absolutely delightful! Set in 1946 in Chicago, Cline-Ransome does a magical job of describing how a young boy struggles with death, moving, bullying, and learning of his own heritage. I can’t wait to share this with my students!

Godot is the Call from the recruiter which never came...
This was the most pertinent book which I picked after getting rejected from all of MBB at the resume stage or never hearing back from boutiques like OW despite getting in all the networking, resume review sessions and referrals in. The frustration only intensifies absurdism lol.
In hindsight, Existentialists are not the best people to read during dwindling confidence xD. Great book though otherwise

I'd heard a lot about Evelyn Waugh as a wickedly funny author much in the vein of a Wilde and Wodehouse. Though I didn't find him as ingenious as Wodehouse but his plots were quite engaging. A nice read !!
The whole book is just an exercise in wholesomeness. The book reads like a script and no wonder it's getting adapted on the big screen with Tom Hanks playing the titular character.
Just read this rather fun book spanning across quite an eclectic scope. Landsberg is one of my fav economics writer who has a snarky sense of humor and gets you thinking about obvious stuff.
What are some books that have absolutely helped you either working in the investment management space or even just personal investing?
