I'll go first. While working general liability claims for a grocery store chain we would get the oddest situations. One time a guy comes into the store wearing heels and a nun outfit (need to add nowhere near Halloween) and filed a claim that while he was looking at magazines in the store a spirit jumped out at him so he "fell" and needed to take a nap.
After moving to auto claims I kind of miss those crazy general liability claims from time to time lol
Auto litigation - a plaintiff was tapped by our insured at a red light ; no damage to either car. He claimed his cell phone ( which he says was between his thighs ) got jammed up his anus and caused an anal fissure. Yes - he was wearing jeans at the time. He claimed the impact was so great that he was lifted off his seat and his cell phone jammed up his butt.
We had excellent defenses besides the low impact. The plaintiff had a lengthy history of chronic pain and opioid use. His chronic opioid use also created constipation and bowel problems. He had a history of anal fissures from his constipation. We did get a medical expert to opine on causality and did reach a modest settlement with him for his initial emergency treatment on the date of the accident. It was wholly defensible but resolving for a minimal amount was the most cost effective way to get this off the books.
I once had a claimant that claimed his surgically implanted reservoir for his penial pump was ruptured in the accident. I took his recorded statement before transferring the file. Unfortunately I only handled soft tissue BI claims. Make whatever jokes you will. That was the oddest claim I ever handled and oddest injury I've ever seen reported.
