I got one for my wife for a significant life event in about 5 months (they only got 1 that year), spend history was minimal (~2k). Really depends on your AD and how they do allocations.
Depends on who else is shopping at your AD. For instance if you’re shopping at my AD, you’re at least behind me in line and probably 100 other people.
It’s hard to find that model . Have been waiting 2 plus years.
Bought 2 Rolexes at my AD and when asked about the turquoise OP, they said “unlikely, let me know if there’s anything else you want”
Gotta say I appreciate them being upfront and not spinning you around…
I thought it was impossible too but got the allocation for my wife, and recently allocated the pink 36m but turned that one down..its possible (moreso for the ladies version)
AD’s can and will get whatever you want, if they have the will to do so.
If an AD is saying “unlikely”, that’s a them problem. Go speak to another, and casually mention you’ve explored this with another AD. Dealers will want the business, so if they know there’s a genuinely interested party, they WILL try.
And if they know that there’s a chance someone else will make that sale, that gives them impetus to work harder for you.
Broaden your horizons, speak to a couple and get the hares running. Then spend with the first one who calls.
And speak to your regular AD and say “I’ve asked elsewhere, but would prefer to give you the business, if you’re interested in working with me?”
Any AD who turns down an opportunity to make a sale either doesn’t believe you’re a genuine sale opportunity (they don’t trust that you’ll follow through with payment) or they’re an idiot and don’t want to make money.
But if they’re willing to ignore you on this, why would you give them other business? Find someone who does want your business.
