What’s the most professional way to ask for a market correction when you know for a fact you’re being underpaid? I just found out through a casual happy hour conversation that the new associate we hired makes $10k more in base than I do, despite me having two years more experience. I like the guy, but it’s a tough pill to swallow knowing I’m effectively training my higher-paid replacement. I want to bring this up to HR without sounding bitter or like I was salary snooping.

Request a meeting and be ready to show your achievements and what you’ve done in these 2 years, look at market rates, and show how excited you are about the role. Have a reasonable target range in mind and keep it professional. The fact that somebody else came in at a higher base should never enter the conversation.

You can ask for a meeting with your manager and start listing out your accomplishments and what you have done to further the company within those two years. Then ask for a raise. You can also try to apply elsewhere and see if you can get an offer. Once you get an offer, you can see if your company will match that offer

I would bring it up to your manager. Make sure you can back up your reasoning and have notes so you get all the points across that you wanted to

hi fishes,

any idea on senior anslyst enterprise procurement level 3 package? i have 2nd round tomorrow any advise? Thanks in advance 😊

Where do you find the time to get everything done in the day when you have multiple partners, associates and equity partners that interrupt you and want things turned around immediately while simultaneously working on deadlines? I feel like I’m the only one that can’t manage a 70+ case load without letting someone down. I constantly have to say “Can I do this tomorrow?” Etc. I don’t even have time to bill on the clock. I work until 7p at least every night. Top 10 family law firm.

User experience mgr salary? I support six product teams and eight reports. 20+ years experience

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?

Currently a Wealth Advisor for Citi but I honestly hate it here with a passion it’s the worst company I’ve ever worked for in my life and I’ve been in Wealth Management in the banking channel for over a decade. Series 7, Series 63, Life, CFP, ChFC, and soon to have my MBA with a focus in Mergers & Acquisitions. I’m look to enter another area of Finance at this point instead of starting over somewhere else from scratch, but not sure what direction to go. Interested in Investment Banking or M&A.

Curious what’s a fair salary in MA? Was just told that there is likely not going to be a chance for a raise during my upcoming performance review due to my salary already being “above average for the industry” based on my employer’s questionable research. I’ve been with the company 8.5 years & am the only one in my role, which they can’t operate without. I execute tasks from two investment advisors and two financial planners - they make the decisions of what should happen & I make it happen.
