I had to travel cross country in my first trimester and was nauseas AF. So I told the partner on my team at 7 weeks. I mean it was really early, but I don’t see the “taboo” of it. They would’ve suspected it when I could only eat rice for breakfast, didn’t order a single drink and only went for cooked sushi.
I was never worried about a negative reaction, so I told my manager at ~8w. Regardless of how the pregnancy went, they would find out. I ended up having an MC and needing a D&C at 10w for one of my pregnancies, so it was easier to ask for time off when they already knew.
As I’m a chemist I told my direct supervisor pretty much as soon as I knew because I needed to avoid certain exposures. In terms of my team somewhere at the start of my second trimester with the exception of my fourth. Had I not been showing I would not have said a word and I didn’t until most people had already figured it out. My boss said someone asked if they had missed the announcement. I was experiencing a lot of bullying by a single person and did not want to give her more fodder. I think I was 18-19 weeks
I waited til 20 weeks. I knew people would probably know/guess but I was just more comfortable waiting
I plan on telling my team at 14 weeks because I'm not traveling after my second trimester, so want to make sure they have enough time to plan.
I’m in the same exact boat. I’m 15 weeks now, just came back from a 2 wk vacay with a larger bump than I was hiding before leave.
I disclosed my first at 19/20 wks but it’s much harder this time around. Luckily we literally just got moved back to hybrid, so I only have to find 3 bump-hiding outfits per week! Hoping to maybe make it a little longer but this bump varies by day and has a mind of its own, if I can make it two more weeks before disclosing then I’ll be officially 4 months. I don’t exactly have a warm welcoming supportive environment at my office or else I would have disclosed already.
Keep yourself comfortable and disclose when it is effort to continue hiding/nog telling..
