When I walked into work yesterday someone said, “You look tired.” It just made me realize how much this crazy news cycle is taking its toll on me, whether I try to hide it or not. There's so much uncertainty about the future and it makes it hard to focus on the here and now. Anyone else struggling with this?

How long does it take for you all to commute to work normally? I am moving to Woking soon and am looking to land a consulting gig in London. It will take me 10-20 min to get to the train station, and from then on the train to Waterloo takes 30 mins. Not sure if that’s going to be too long a daily commute by UK standard?

I'm lateraling to another firm because frankly I think the management of this one is terrible, but the people (and individual partners) I actually work with are awesome. I've only been here for about 18 months, so I imagine that short time frame will make it extra awkward 😬

Does anyone think it’s weird that my firm is bending over backwards to try to keep a first year staff from leaving the firm after she was rated a 2 this year. But now she’s trying to leave and they keep trying to push her to stay saying she can be a partner in 8-9 years and laying it all out in detail. The issue is they laid off other staff (all but her) so maybe that’s it? Find it very odd.
