I didn’t formally announce at work until 20 weeks, but I did tell a few people I work closely with that I trust a lot early, after confirmation and the NIPT test, to help explain what I was going through.
This question gets asked in this bowl a lot. I think the answers vary, but it's usually advisable to tell them after you've gotten through the first trimester unless you're experiencing some sort of symptom that is affecting productivity.
There is no “safe zone.” I lost my first born at 28 weeks pregnant due to a cord accident. Sending prayers your way 🤍
Thank you 😢
First of all, congrats! I told my friend/colleague/coworker at 10 weeks. Told my managing partner and HR at 18 weeks — because we were having a retreat and I didn’t want to drink and didn’t want me be asked why I was drinking. I told the rest of my team at 20 weeks.
I told them at 15 weeks bc I knew my boss already wanted to start looking to hire another associate bc of the work load and wanted him to have enough time. But it really depends on your relationship with the office.
