You could or try looking into high positions in your sector. Supervisor, Shift leader, or whatever is the next rank/level of responsibility for your job.

I wouldn't wait until I've reached the max salary. This field has an abundance of opportunities for your skillset. Maybe a year to six months out. You might have an opportunity waiting for you, as you are ready to walk out of the door.
My ex-girlfriend once told me that in today's economy, changing job every year or so and you will probably end up being paid more than if you stayed loyal to the same company and "enjoyed" your 1% yearly salary incease...
It is ridiculous, because you don't need a degree in business to understand that a veteran employee with years of experience is a VERY valuable asset...
Most definitely, because in today's economy you need at least $26 and above to stand a chance out here.
