If you’re coming in at Manager or above then I def think you can negotiate 145+. I heard most McLean Manager PMs were between 145-165k and that was before the two salary increases they got since July.
Depends on what level you are. Glassdoor has been pretty accurate. I’m a senior associate PM in DC making 130k
Question- as a senior associate do you have to shadow a PM on a build? Or are you treated like a proper product manager
Probably upto 150k. Product manager roles don’t pay that high.
Depends on the level. The job family definitely breaks 200k+
What level?
Senior associate!
Yeah product won't pay higher than you're salary unless you're SM/director +
That’s not correct. I’m at 130k as an SA PM
In NYC you’ll almost certainly be at or above your current salary
Do you mind sharing your current title at McKinsey? Are you in consulting?
I’m a product specialist (PM equivalent)
Folks on this thread ! I’m weighing this offer against an incoming offer from Meta , but Meta would be for product growth analyst. I care most about getting genuine Product manager experience, so would y’all suggest I take the offer here, or go to Meta and try to switch into a PM role later? As capital one colleagues, I really value your opinions . Meta is offering a higher salary but I truly don’t care too much about a 10-20k difference
Take this C1 job now, go from there. You’d spend your whole time at Meta with this next desired switch hanging over your head
