I’m 24 and started as an infrastructure analyst in January at Accenture/Av. Came in with about 4 years of help desk experience. The older I get the more I realize that the $86K I make is not really much. Non-ADHD significant other of an ADHD lawyer here. He is going through a really demanding period of work right now and I am doing my best to support him by doing all the domestic stuff - food, chores, walking dog etc. I think it's starting to take a toll on me now, but I don't know how to ask him for a bit of support without either sending him into a guilt spiral or adding to his stress. Maxed out Roth IRA contributions when I wasn't eligible for 2021 (got a salary bump mid year). Do I need to recharacterize? It's a very small account that's been open for only two years. That's the only IRA account I own. Do I need to open a traditional IRA and roll over 6k + realized gains into that account and keep the Roth IRA. So confused how this works and got conflicting information from Merrill.
