How do u love or hate ur filipino mom in laws? What are the traits to watch out for?

I know the general answer to this, but I want to know others response.
If by your 30’s you’re mostly established in life, why is it then harder to establish a long lasting relationship with someone ?

When did you know your firm wasn't right for you? I'm not sure if it's just the stress of being a new attorney with a family or if my job isn't the right fit. I work in civil litigation and am consistently below my billables. I can't stay late because my kids need me and I can't work on the weekends because I have to maintain my house and take care of my kids. I'm being constantly told to work harder, stay later, etc but it's not practical. Or am I not approaching this with the right mindset?

I gained weight during my last relationship (probably around 30 lbs, and I’m 5’9”). Before my relationship, I felt like I could get any guy. But I’ve been single for 2 years now and it’s been so hard to date. I’m not sure if maybe I’ve lost confidence, but I legitimately don’t know how to get a guy to be interested. Any pointers?

Happy wife happy life is a really toxic saying. I’m just shocked how this has become the standard saying for men in relationships. I have friends of mine saying this all the time, and I have just thought it’s so cringe and always want to say my thoughts on it but always decide to hold back. However, imagine the saying reversed - happy husband happy life - that would lead to all kinds of uproar. To me happy wife happy life means I need to sacrifice my wants and needs to make my wife happy.

Mom of two here (21 month old and 5 month old) who is starting to consider having a third. I am in my late 30’s and my doctor just recommended I start trying at 6 months postpartum. I feel like gay men especially are constantly discriminated against in the workplace. I have been turned down for a promotion, yet again, in favor of a married heterosexual with kids. This has been the story of my career. Have superior experience - stellar reviews - people fighting to get on to my team because our team is great and I treat everyone well. This is so frustrating. Again and again, it’s a culture of parents helping other parents. No gays in upper level mgmt in our office.

Brought my gf sushi take out to her house when she got off of work. She didn't like the meal I got her and started to eat the roll i got for myself. She noticed I wasn't eating so I told her I ate before rather than tell her she was actually eating my dinner. She's now mad at me that I "lied" even though I did it so she wouldn't be embarrassed. Comforting others:
When someone tells me bad news regarding their health, I say everything I am supposed to say (I’m sorry to hear that, I’m here for you, etc) EXCEPT “everything is going to be ok”. Because I can’t guarantee that and I really don’t know if everything is going to be ok. I was taken aback recently when a friend told me I am calloused and cold-hearted for not being able to say those words. Is she right? Should I start saying this for the purposes of providing comfort only??

My mom and dad are separating (bad terms) and not speaking, but my mom asks me about him everyday. She knows I don’t want to talk to him or about him, but continues to bring it up everyday.. I’ve resorted to silence or not responding because I always end up being the bad guy when I get annoyed or don’t want to discuss it. Am I wrong here?

Hi can you please help me with the right marital status when applying for German visa. I am a separated women but not a divorcee yet. Will it be a problem if I put my marital status as single. I have a kid. So will it be difficult if I need to take her with me . If I put single in visa will it be changing in my taxation.

My wife often calls me by 5:45/6 to ask where I am if I’m not headed home yet. Sometimes she’s stressed with kids/dogs/dinner and really wants me home. This really throws off my concentration because it makes me feel rushed. Like many practices sometimes I’m out at 5:30, other times it’s much later. Just depends and is unpredictable. Anyone here ever been scared by some major differences in materialism with your partner? I’ve been considered “boujee” by some friends but my girlfriend of just over a year is on a whole other level. Lately I've heard a lot of really negative and hurtful comments about patients who are picking up contraceptives, and about people who are pro-choice.
