Hello all, I am a production manager for a sign design and manufacturing company. I have been with the company for six years now starting as lead graphic designer working my way to the production manager. since becoming the production manager two years ago I am responsible for 4 large format printers and 1 vinyl plotter. I’m wearing too many hats but I love what I do. I would love to be a remote graphic designer but I don’t know where to start. Any suggestions?

Is it easy to change roles/teams when you are working at Oracle? I’m getting a job which isn’t ideal but want to transition to another team there. How long would I need to wait before transferring?

We need a Late Night Confessions bowl

I’m so grumpy about new campus hires. Sometimes I’m judgmental (your hobby is “working on your golf swing,” really?). Sometimes I’m just exhausted by the worried earnestness. Sometimes I’m amazed that they seem to have zero useful skills, yet they’ll be making 150k easily in the not too distant future.

I miss truly being excited about someone, getting the butterflies and all. Being excited about your day all because you will get to see someone… must be one of the best feelings in the world.

I had an initial interview on Wednesday. About an hour later, I got a call from an internal recruiter from the same company wanting to follow up and see how the interview went. I didn’t see the voicemail until the following morning when I was at work and called her back that afternoon when I was out of work. I still haven’t heard from her. Is this normal? Should I not try calling back again? I’ve been at my job for several years, so I am unfamiliar with how I should handle a situation like this.

Any Sales tips? What has worked for you all when doing cold calls? And any tips and idea on building your book of biz?

How does search work at McKinsey? If it’s up to x weeks paid to find a job, how will they know if I’ve already accepted an offer? I’m trying to strategically declare search so I can have a backup offer and use my time to find something better, but I want to make sure that I don’t get in trouble lol. It’s also difficult to multitask finding a job and working on studies since you’re around the clock.
