Wow, thanks for sharing this. Now I know one more way people can scam you. I wish there was a post or content sharing all ways people tend to do that, because I have been scammed more times than I can count. The last time I lost $200, I thought I was paying a bill. I hate how good these people are. I don't get it, how they can be so creative and use people's trust to steal the little they have. Am I a bad person for hating these people? I hate it to my soul.

You’re not alone, I can’t stand them either. It’s frustrating to see people getting rich by scamming and stealing from others. There’s nothing right about making money off someone else’s loss or trust.
I have been scammed more than once. I am older now and really am more careful.

Being careful is the only real protection you have against getting scammed. Sadly, you can’t trust anyone these days, it’s better to double-check everything than regret it later.
There is proof. If you know it wasn’t sent to the correct spot you admitted to it not being an honest transaction. CFPB. But banks have found ways to make up “evidence” rules for businesses that literally rename themselves in the merchant transaction.
Hard to follow a money trail when it is a renamed transaction in the statement or ledger.

You’re absolutely right. Banks have started finding ways to deny certain dispute requests, even when the cases are legitimate, just to protect their revenue. It’s frustrating to see genuine claims being brushed off for the sake of their bottom line.

That’s rough. It’s wild how quickly good intentions get tangled up in scams online. You want to help, but without proof, you’re stuck watching the fallout.
