Happy last Friday of summer! Does your agency do Summer Fridays? Did you have time to take all of them? Why not All-Year-Round Fridays? Why not a floating weekday each week? What would you argue for?

Are your office services workers represented in your union? Or would you work closely with the SEIU to help them secure the rights they deserve along with the rest of your agency?

Who would you want to include in your union? Which levels would be exempt? E-suite? G-suite? Directors aren't managers—or are yours? Who makes final decisions and who has to just live with them?

FACT: Workers themselves are the union. A union is a democratic organization of workers standing up for their rights on the job and in society.

Just a post to say thank you, thank you, thank you for making this bowl. This is the bowl I’ve been hoping someone more politically motivated than me would make.

Saying someone was let go because they didn’t fit into the company’s culture is a big red flag. It means your culture is not very accepting and that is a dangerous thing.

MYTH: Unions hinder advancement and promotions.

FACT: Unions are designed to oppose favoritism and to set salary and work standards, providing structures to promote fair decisions.
