I can't help but notice that the most touted exit opps mentioned here are all 'G&A' positions - S&O, CorpDev, Strat, etc. Aren't these positions the first in line to go come layoff time? Prod Management seems like it would be more insulated from layoff pressure (so long as your P&L is in the black) though even that could come under budgetary pressure.

What would be an example of 'layoff-proof' exit opp?

Hey all, Happy Monday. Curious for feedback on how you've seen severance offers approached.

My prior companies have always been what I thought of as average: min of 2 weeks plus extra week for every year for ICs, min of 4 weeks plus extra week for every year for managers, etc. for Directors & beyond.

Current co refuses to offer more than 1-2 weeks, max. I had to go to bat recently for a 3 year + manager level only to get 3 weeks and my leadership team is NOT happy with me.

Thoughts?

My wife is worried about her job. She works as a vendor to wipro.her manager told her to send resume and docs to upload, they will transition her from vendor to wipro payroll. Her parent company is asking her to tell wipro not interested.she wants to get converted to wipro permanent payroll. Is there any NOC required from vendor?pls comment

A very busy sidewalk on a very busy intersection in my neighborhood is occupied by a group of homeless individuals who brought all their belongings there (tents, chairs, mattresses, bags, etc.). There are piles and piles of trash, empty liquor bottles, cigarette butts, needles, and God knows what else. Police is obviously uninterested in doing anything. Is there anything I can do to have them moved somewhere else? (And please spare me a lecture on horrors of inequity and housing crisis)
