I’m studying for the SHRM-CP with the Mometrix (study guides, online course, and flash cards), however I’m super overwhelmed with all of the information. What are some best practices to ensure I grasp all of the concept ? Any advice would be much appreciated!!!

There are previous comments in this group about how great Mometrix is. I don't think they broke down how they used it though. With the SHRM Learning System, it was helpful to tackle one topic per week, although that would depend on how far out your test is. I recommend flash cards and doing as many practice questions as possible. You're going to review and learn a lot of stuff you won't be tested on. You can do it!

What trainings have you done and do you think it was beneficial in growing your career AND skills?

P.S. I know SHRM is somewhat industry standard but I’m open to all!

Taking my SHRM-CP exam on 12/13. I got an email saying that Mac users will have to reschedule if they have the new software. I do. But I really wanted to take the exam that day because I was going to put tell my employer that I am certified so I can get a very much needed raise.
Idk what to do 😩 any advice?

I signed up for the SHRM CP exam. Anyone have fairly recent materials they’d be open to selling or sharing? Would love to not pay 700-1000 on access to the learning portal or a class. With my masters, I can’t get EY to cover the certification but it’s something I wanted to do this year.

Hello, I am HR Generalist; 9YOE. I am making 65k with a yearly 5% MIP bonus.I have my Masters Degree in HR management and currently working on my Shrm certification. Being that inflation is a huge issue these days and also seeing what other jobs are giving their HR Generalist starting rate of 75k and up. How do I go about asking my company to look into a job pay evaluation and giving more pay based on what’s out there in the Market? Also, with having a masters is my salary to low?

I think I might be underpaid. I work for a pretty small company but after looking online it seems like it. I make about $18 an hour as a strategist in Phoenix, AZ. Any strategies or resources you could recommend for getting rid of the dreaded annual performance review (or at least lessening the dread) and creating a more effective year round performance feedback system? Our review is currently tied to our end of year bonuses and merit increases, so not sure I could get rid of it entirely. This would be for hourly and management employees, all working on-site.

Hi! My friend works as a recruiter for a recruiting agency, and he told me the company will let recruiters “pay debt”. So each month that you don’t close any deal, you get paid for your base salary, then you are also on debt. Once you close a deal for example 3 months later, then you have to pay your salary back for those 3 months that you did not close any deal. And also the Inmail fee on LinkedIn will be deducted from the commission too. Is this normal in recruiting agencies?
