What is the Deloitte MSP Team? Is it consulting?
Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?

Hey guys, Since I am working in Deloitte and right now, I am working from home. I want to go Nepal for 2 months and I want to work from there. Do I need to tell my manager or simply I can go there and start my work. Is there any obligation?
Note- I don't want to tell anyone. Since it may backfire sometimes
Hi folks,
I've got an offer from Netcracker recently.
Based on the salary discussion, HR released the offer with 2Lakh less as promised and now telling me over and over again that they will revice it near the joining date and this is the process they follow for every candidate so that they don't go and shop in the market.Do you think I should trust them as they haven't given me anything in written but keeps on promising me over phone calls that closer to my joining date they will revise the offer.

I think the frustration with DEI is not that it's protecting people, it's that it's a corporate distraction from actually improving people's lives and situations. DEI has become a corporate bandaid to allegedly solve every inequity in the office place, meanwhile these corporations take advantage of all of us. So it's a way for them to pat themselves on the back while not doing anything that would materially improve people's lives. I am truly sorry you had to go through that, but I don't think DEI is the thing that's protecting you from that happening in tech. It's a facade.
ISAT3 1, if that were true we wouldn’t be having this conversation in the first place. The fact you used those resources in the first place shows there is a flaw in the system already and we’ve had to acknowledge it, but instead of facing the issue head on and changing it systemically, we’ve addressed it with programs to help only those fortunate enough to access them. The fact that we have to have this conversation is proof that there is issues, and you turning a blind eye, or claiming false victimhood and white knighting for a system and mentality that is broken and has been for the longest time is wild to me. It still doesn’t invalidate someone else’s experience. I’m glad you were able to use the resources you had access to and better your life. Obviously the OP did too, so this wasn’t a question of resources, but a question of making sure we can address the inequity and imbalance of hiring and promotional practices in the workplace for all marginalized groups.
As a former bank employee, in computer operations, a former college employee, in computer operations, a screw machinist and CNC operator, sales associate and forklift operator, semi tractor operator and telecommunication technician and fiber technology technician, all former, I feel where you are coming from P.T.T.(OP). Every new position at every new Fortune 100 and top public company, I faced pushback, name calling, insults, promotion passovers and isolation. Only I started when DEI wasn't even a mnemonic.
In every shop I walked into as a setter, I was met with stares and derision. As a driver, whenever I quoted a DOT regulation, I got stares from other drivers like I was a narc or I was making stuff up. I would hear the comments made by fellow employees about the 'uppity' one or the shoe shine boy trying to start some stuff. When I would write a new procedure or streamline a process, only to have a boss claim the work as their own.
It would be the ultimate tell when on one job, where I was hired as a lead, I mistakenly came in through the door where the day laborers entered and they were giddy to see a black guy come in and then to find out I was a lead and have them all literally praying for me to survive, knowing how other blacks had been treated.
Someone said you were racist against whites. I see it differently. Racism is the domain of those in power to stay in power. One has to be in a superior position to be a racist. Bigotry and prejudice are the lot of those who feel the reason a person who is Black or of color can be hired as a boss, only do so through some twist in the system, quota or affirmative action; DEI. Surely they can't actually be qualified to actually do the job. Right?
In every position I held, I maintained until I became the go-to guy in my area. And yet, I was still the only one there. Women were excluded, especially in some fields-even over me. Obviously, based on recent political developments, we see women are no better off, in many instances, than when they first got the right to vote. Even women won't vote for women. But that is a rant for another day.
I think you are spot on, but maybe there's still time for you to make the change to see the difference. I'm a little long in the tooth to make to the valley. Happy MLK Jr Day.
Women don't vote for women that are not qualified. That is the distinction.
I am now an older woman, looking for a new job and do you think THAT is easy? Ha.
NO - Not normal - it is just how big budget agencies get recruiting information to use as excuse for gaining information that gives them an upper hand in recruiting and hiring! These mega agencies do not do any that’s good for you and me! JUST FOR THEIR OWN POCKETS! We accept this and keep buying merchi

I would like to note that those who have laughed at this post. Disparaged DEI in your responses.
You are proving my exact point.
Y’all never have anything to say about nepotism. DEI or AA which has benefited White women more than Black people overall has nothing to do with Black people or White women being less qualified.
Why is that?
Oh, because it’s DEI and affirmative action for you and yours. To you nobody else deserves to earn a decent living but you.
OP you are tough and brave.
DEI as companies implemented wasn't working. If it had positive results, you wouldn't see companies cutting the programs. As you have personally experienced, just being there does not magically cure racism in others. Quota hiring that some companies implemented for equity(which is technically illegal) did not fix problems of racism and other forms of discrimination within their companies. Companies have to fix culture throughout their organization. DEI programs are often polish on the outside that doesn't fix a rotten core.
At its worst, some DEI programs made culture problems worse. Tipping the scale the other way instead of leveling it makes some white people resentful and lash out. Discrimination was illegal before the DEI acronym was coined.
OP, it sounds like your manager is the root problem. They aren't building the team. They are allowing behavior that destroys employee connection. It doesn't just hurt you, it hurts the productivity of the department as a whole.

I left that place for the place I work now.
EEOC would have likely done nothing because they would have circled the wagons.
Like I said one instance was in front of one manager and the other I mentioned the drawing was destroyed by a different manager when I reported it.
I would start looking for another job

I left this job 18 years ago. I posted this because of the original post. My current employer has had some issues but nothing like that place.
Just out of curiosity, if this is still happening, have you filed a complaint with the EEOC? If so, what was their response?
