I've worked directly with leadership at a startup before and I'd recommend just doing your homework and sticking to the facts. Be the voice of reason, but also make sure you're heard. Doing your homework is important because it allows you to speak with confidence. Hopefully they will listen to you out the gate, but if they don't you'll have to earn their respect with good work.
I'm not sure it's best to look up advice from books or general reading since you'll handle situations based on progress. I suggest mastering your craft and start engaging mentors and/or opt for consultations since you'd be able to bridge what you know with what they do. You'll also be able to ask questions and get inside information from their experience.
Sounds like a pretty unique opportunity. When are you starting?
Yeah, I'll have a lot of possibilities to freely build the first data structure. I'll start in April
Make sure you use Scala as it provides great job security
I think honestly the biggest thing is...be super super clear in your reasoning and what you're doing and why. I think a lot of people are just busy and don't process things. Like FSD1 said, stick to the facts and make your position clear.
