I’m a CA fully paid by a team but technically work as a Business Manager (can’t officially change my title/enter EGP role until I’m fully licensed). I’m thinking about moving to IL but I’m concerned about pay. As a Business Manager—anybody know what the average pay is?

Does anyone teach in class elementary, middle, or high school and also teaches college level? If so, how did you get the college level job? I have a masters and specialist degree and teach in class. I’m a tax senior in big 4. Which role in the industry has a better career trajectory in terms of growth and pay: senior accountant or senior tax accountant? I do a lot of tax provision and starting to find tax interesting but I’m not having a lot of luck finding openings for in house tax roles.

I’m an accounting advisory M2 in Los Angeles and hoping to find a position around $150k in industry. However a recruiter said that’s too high and I should be looking more around $130-140k, I can’t tell though if she’s being honest or just hoping I’ll take a smaller salary so that she can get an easier commission. I’m a new senior manager in tax. Just got promoted this year. How do I know that I’m able to get to partner vs the firm seeing me as a sm only? What can I do to differentiate and also how do I prevent being overworked? I’m scared I would say I’m interested in partner, but then the firm seeing me as a workhorse and not promoting me. I feel like I want to spend my first year becoming more tax technical and building up my management skills. Then consider asking my coach about partner potential.
